The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its counterterrorism operations with precision airstrikes in Katsina and Borno States, resulting in the destruction of several terror camps and the neutralisation of dozens of insurgents.
Under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, two separate air interdictions were carried out on 27 November in Kankara–Faskari–Malumfashi and Danfako areas of Katsina State. Intelligence-led targeting enabled NAF aircraft to strike fortified hideouts linked to kidnapping networks, livestock rustling operations, and violent rural attacks. The coordinated strikes destroyed operational structures, logistics depots, and defensive infrastructure while eliminating several armed fighters.
Meanwhile, in the North-East, air support was deployed to bolster ground troops of the 28 Task Force Brigade during a coordinated ISWAP/Boko Haram offensive on Chibok. NAF aircraft conducted multiple strikes on insurgent clusters attempting to regroup and escape, inflicting heavy casualties and preventing the militants from reorganising or advancing further.
Speaking on the operations, NAF spokesperson Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame reaffirmed military resolve, stating that the Air Force remains committed to “precise, surgical engagements aimed at neutralising threats, restoring security and safeguarding the lives and properties of citizens.”
The latest operations highlight the increasing effectiveness of joint security efforts and military intelligence in degrading terrorist capabilities across northern Nigeria.
