A police spokesperson, CSP James Abba, explained the operation: “Our officers, working with intelligence units, tracked the kidnappers to their hideout in Gujenai Forest. We acted swiftly and were able to rescue all the victims safely. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.”
Eyewitnesses from Tungan Bijimi described the tense days following the abduction. One villager, Mrs. Hauwa Usman, recounted: “We were very scared after our neighbors were taken. It was a sleepless week. When we heard that the police had rescued them, we could not stop crying. We are thankful for the bravery of the security operatives.”
Another resident, Mr. Ibrahim Sani, added: “The police came quickly and worked with other security agencies. We hope that those behind this crime will be caught so that our community can be safe again. We are grateful to see our people back home safely.”
