Tension has gripped Ungwan Nungu in Bokana Ward of Sanga Local Government Area, Kaduna State, after fifteen farmers were abducted by armed men while returning from their farms on Saturday, November 29, 2025. The incident has deepened fear among residents who say rural communities have become increasingly vulnerable to attacks in recent months.

Families of the victims have been thrown into distress as they await word on the whereabouts of their loved ones. Community members described the abducted farmers as peaceful residents who were simply trying to make a living amid challenging economic times.

Reacting to the incident, the lawmaker representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, Hon. Daniel Amos, issued a strongly worded statement condemning the attack as “cruel, senseless and deeply regrettable.” He said the abduction underscores the deteriorating security situation that has continued to plague rural communities in Southern Kaduna.

According to Amos, it is unacceptable that hardworking citizens are being targeted while carrying out routine activities essential to their survival. He urged residents to remain calm and resist the urge to take actions that could escalate tensions or compromise ongoing efforts to locate the victims.

The lawmaker appealed for improved cooperation between locals and security operatives, stressing that vigilance and timely reporting of suspicious activities could help prevent future attacks. He also called for a comprehensive and intelligence-driven security operation to track down the perpetrators and secure the safe rescue of those abducted.

“I urge security agencies to leave no stone unturned in their search,” he said, pressing for enhanced surveillance, better coordination, and prompt arrests. “Our expectation is that those responsible will be found and prosecuted without delay.”

Amos expressed deep sympathy for the affected families and assured them that every necessary step was being taken to fast-track the victims’ return. He reaffirmed his commitment to the protection of lives and property, saying that despite growing challenges, communities in his constituency must not lose hope.

The abductions add to a troubling pattern of attacks in Southern Kaduna, renewing calls for stronger security presence and more decisive government interventions.
