The Adamawa State Police Command has deployed additional night patrol teams to the Kofare-Agric area of the state in response to reports of alleged night attacks and growing concerns from residents who have called for a strengthened security presence, the police confirmed in a statement on Friday.

In the announcement, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the move was part of a proactive strategy to bolster security and deter criminal activity in the affected community. The enhanced night patrols, which position officers at strategic points within the area, are intended to reassure residents and prevent further incidents while investigations into the alleged attacks continue.

Commissioner of Police Dankombo Morris reiterated the command’s commitment to the protection of lives and property across Adamawa State, emphasising that the intensified patrols form part of broader efforts to maintain public safety in collaboration with sister security agencies and community stakeholders. Authorities also urged residents of Kofare-Agric to remain calm and to provide timely and credible information to the police through established communication channels.

The statement included emergency contact numbers for reporting suspicious activities, highlighting the importance of community cooperation in securing neighbourhoods and enabling prompt responses to emerging threats.

This deployment follows similar security initiatives in various parts of northern Nigeria where police have stepped up visibility and patrols in response to local concerns about crime and attacks. Residents in affected communities across the region have increasingly called for consistent protective measures as insecurity continues to affect rural and peri-urban areas.
