Kaduna Police Arrest Seven Suspected Bandits, Recover Multiple Firearms in Intelligence‑Led Operations

Kaduna State Police Command has apprehended seven suspected bandits and recovered five firearms, including an AK-47 rifle and Beretta pistols, along with live ammunition, during coordinated intelligence-led operations conducted on January 28 and 29, 2025.

The arrests were made following actionable intelligence on the activities of criminal elements operating in various local government areas of the state. Police sources confirmed that the operations were targeted at dismantling networks involved in armed robbery, kidnappings, and other violent crimes that have plagued parts of Kaduna State.

Items recovered from the suspects included an AK-47 rifle, multiple Beretta handguns, and corresponding ammunition, all of which are now in police custody as evidence. The suspects are currently undergoing further investigation to determine their roles in criminal activities and to identify additional members of their networks.

The Kaduna State Police Command emphasized that the arrests and recovery of firearms underscore its commitment to curbing violent crime and enhancing public safety across the state.
