ABUJA, Nigeria — The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reiterated that the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration period will not be extended beyond the established deadline of February 26, 2026. This clarification comes as registrations continue nationwide and concerns grow among prospective candidates over delays in completing the process.

In its weekly bulletin, JAMB warned that the deadline is final and would not be shifted under any circumstances. The board cited the recurring trend of candidates postponing registration until the final hours and then demanding extensions, a practice it says will not be entertained this year.

The board explained that e‑PIN vending, which is the sale of the digital voucher required to begin the UTME registration process, is scheduled to end on February 26, 2026, and stressed that candidates should complete their registration promptly to avoid missing the opportunity to sit for the examination.

JAMB also noted that the timeline for registration is part of a broader academic calendar that includes subsequent activities such as examination scheduling and result processing, and that extensions could disrupt these coordinated timelines.

Prospective candidates have been urged to visit JAMB‑accredited Computer‑Based Test (CBT) centres or use official registration channels to complete their registrations well before the deadline, as delays could result in ineligibility to sit for the 2026 UTME.
