LAMATA has deployed at least 15 to 25 BRT buses to serve commuters along the Elepe route this Thursday morning, easing congestion and improving transport availability. This comes after recent incidents involving harassment of commuters; the individual responsible for harassing Ella has been removed from duty. Ella has also received support from members of the diaspora to cover Bolt ride expenses.
As of 7:30 am, there were no visible queues at the bus stops, and authorities reported seven additional buses positioned on standby. The scene included a presence of area boys, Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps officers, the LAMATA monitoring team, and civic-minded Nigerians ensuring order and assisting commuters.
The deployment reflects ongoing efforts by LAMATA and local authorities to enhance commuter experience, prevent harassment, and maintain orderly transport operations in high-traffic corridors.
