Popular Nigerian TikTok creator Habeeb Hamzat, known as Peller, was recently denied entry into the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) in Enugu because the institution’s management said they had not been informed in advance about his visit. The incident occurred when Peller attempted to enter the campus, but security and school officials stopped him, citing the absence of prior notification to the university authorities for proper coordination and campus security arrangements.
The visuals circulating online showed Peller being prevented from entering, highlighting the strict enforcement of procedural rules by the university. Observers noted that the denial was based solely on institutional protocols, which require any scheduled visit by a public figure or influencer to be communicated ahead of time.
Peller, who has millions of followers on social media and gained prominence through viral content and collaborations with major personalities, continues to attract public attention. Many of his followers reacted to the denial with mixed opinions, with some calling for better communication between influencers and institutions, while others expressed sympathy for the TikToker’s experience.
The university has confirmed that no formal notification of Peller’s visit was made to management. Campus authorities emphasised that all guests, particularly high-profile visitors, must schedule visits in advance to ensure safety, order, and minimal disruption to academic activities.
