ABEOKUTA, Nigeria — Detectives of the Ajuwon Division of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 25‑year‑old man in connection with a brutal early‑morning knife attack in the Olámbe community that claimed the lives of two people and left three others fighting for their lives, authorities confirmed.
In the early hours of Tuesday, 7 April 2026, at about 1:38 a.m., police received distress calls reporting a violent assault in Olámbe, a neighborhood in Ogun State where residents were awakened by the sounds of a frenzied stabbing. Officers who rushed to the scene discovered that a man, later identified by police as Abubakar Musa ‘M’, had attacked a group of civilians with a knife following a dispute linked to failed business transactions. Law enforcement sources say that the victims had attempted to reason with him before the violence erupted.
According to the police, Musa stabbed five people during the incident. Two of the victims — 25‑year‑old Gbadamasi Ibrahim ‘M’ and 40‑year‑old Chinedu ‘M’ — succumbed to their injuries while being transported to a nearby hospital, where medical staff confirmed their deaths.
