Lagos Police Arrest Suspects After Lekki Unrest Videos Surface Online

The Lagos State Police Command says several suspected hoodlums have been arrested following reports of unrest in the Lekki area of Lagos that circulated online today.

According to the statement released by the police, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police ordered a rapid investigation after videos showing disturbance in the area emerged on social media.

The command said a sting operation was subsequently carried out around the Chisco and Osapa bus stop axis in Lekki. Police added that the operation led to the successful identification and arrest of a number of suspected hoodlums.

Authorities did not state the exact number of arrests made or provide further details on the identities of those detained.

The Commissioner of Police assured law-abiding residents that the security of their lives and property is guaranteed under his watch.

Police said efforts to maintain order and safety in the area are continuing.
