The Commissioner of Police for Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, has embarked on strategic familiarization visits to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) state commands as part of deliberate efforts to strengthen institutional collaboration, deepen operational synergy, and reinforce collective commitment towards public safety and effective criminal justice administration. The visits, which took place during the week, underscore a growing recognition within the security community that contemporary security management requires sustained cooperation, intelligence sharing, mutual support, and coordinated engagements among all critical agencies within the nation’s internal security architecture.
At the FRSC Ogun State Command, CP Ojajuni was received by the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, alongside senior officers of the Corps. Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in traffic management, highway patrol operations, accident prevention strategies, emergency response coordination, and public safety advocacy across Ogun State. The Commissioner of Police commended the Corps for its professionalism, dedication, and consistent efforts toward promoting road safety and reducing road traffic crashes within the state. He particularly applauded the FRSC Special Marshal Initiative, describing it as a commendable community‑based partnership structure comparable to the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC). He noted that the initiative has continued to enhance public participation, civic responsibility, traffic management support, and community involvement in promoting safety, discipline, and orderliness within society.
At the Nigerian Correctional Service Ogun State Command, CP Ojajuni and his delegation were received by the Controller of Corrections, Abioye Kamoru Adesina. Engagements centered on strengthening collaboration within the criminal justice system, custodial security, inmate management, and post‑incarceration rehabilitation processes. The Commissioner of Police commended the ongoing reforms within the Nigerian Correctional Service, particularly in the areas of inmate education, vocational skills acquisition, personal development programmes, behavioural reformation, and rehabilitation initiatives aimed at transforming inmates into responsible and productive citizens upon reintegration into society. CP Ojajuni described the correctional reforms as progressive, impactful, and essential to reducing recidivism, emphasizing that rehabilitation and reformation remain critical components of sustainable public safety and long‑term societal stability.
During the visits, CP Ojajuni also presented copies of The New Dawn, the flagship newspaper of the Nigeria Police Force, to the heads of the respective security agencies as part of efforts to strengthen institutional relationships, promote strategic communication, and enhance inter‑agency information sharing within the security community. The Commissioner of Police expressed appreciation to the leadership and personnel of both the FRSC and the NCoS for their professionalism, dedication, and continued contributions to public safety, institutional development, and national security objectives. He further stressed that effective policing and sustainable security management can only be achieved through strong inter‑agency collaboration, intelligence sharing, coordinated operational strategies, and mutual institutional support among relevant stakeholders.
CP Ojajuni reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Ogun State Police Command under his leadership to sustaining productive partnerships, strengthening operational synergy, and deepening cooperation with all security and safety agencies to ensure a secure, peaceful, and well‑ordered environment for all residents of Ogun State.
