The Plateau State Police Command has arrested two suspected members of the notorious Sara‑Suka cult group in separate operations within Jos, recovering dangerous weapons, cult‑related attire, and substances suspected to be crystal methamphetamine (commonly known as “ice”) and cannabis. The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Alfred Alabo, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, noting that the operations were carried out under the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Bassey Ewah, as part of intensified efforts to combat crime and drug abuse across the state.
In the first operation, detectives from the Command’s Anti‑Cyber Crime and Narcotics Unit arrested an 18‑year‑old suspect, Adam Abdullahi of Yen Siminti, Rikkos, Jos, during an operation at Gengere. According to the police statement, the suspect was found in possession of a double‑edged knife, cult‑related attire, and substances suspected to be crystal methamphetamine, popularly known as “ice.” In a separate operation, officers attached to the Angwan Rogo Division arrested a 20‑year‑old suspect, Khalifa Yusuf of Angwan Rimi, Jos. The suspect was arrested at 011 Prayer Ground opposite the permanent site of the University of Jos. Items recovered from him include one knife and dry leaves suspected to be cannabis.
SP Alabo said both suspects are currently in custody, undergoing investigation, and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations. The Command reiterated its commitment to tackling crime and other forms of criminality in the state, urging residents to remain vigilant and support security agencies with timely and credible information.
