Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has declared that she is no longer interested in marriage, a decision she attributes to her traumatic separation from her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko. The mother of two made this disclosure during a livestream with TikToker Jarvis at her Children’s Day carnival in Asaba, Delta State, on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
During the livestream, Daniels explained that while her perspective on marriage has fundamentally shifted, she has not abandoned her desire to expand her family. “I want to have six children and I have two already, two boys. It’s so crazy, but for some reason, I have checked my mind out of getting married,” she said. “But I am going to have a girl, and I must have a girl.” She added that she feels motherhood is better understood when a woman has a daughter, and that having a girl child carries a deeper emotional responsibility because a mother must serve as a direct role model for her daughter to emulate.
The actress, who turned 25 in 2026, married the 65-year-old Delta North senator in 2019, a union that generated widespread public debate due to the 40‑year age gap. The couple, who have two young sons, separated in late 2025 after their marriage collapsed amid mutual public accusations. Nwoko had alleged that Daniels was struggling with substance abuse and required rehabilitation. Daniels swiftly denied those claims, accusing her estranged husband of manipulation, psychological control and abuse. She later left the marriage and has since repeatedly stated that she is now single.
In her livestream, Daniels also reflected on why she wants a daughter. She argued that women tend to remain emotionally tied to their homes and parents even after marriage, while men focus more on building their own families. She said having a girl child would deepen her connection to motherhood, and noted that it is usually female children who remember and care for their parents in old age. She further revealed that she had not seen her two sons since 2025, adding that she remains hopeful of reuniting with them soon.
