The body of a young man was recovered from a river in the Ilokun area of Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, on Thursday, May 28, 2026, hours after it was reportedly swept there by floodwaters. According to reports from Omoluabi Media TV, the lifeless body was discovered inside the river by residents, who quickly alerted others in the area. This led to a crowd gathering at the scene, while sympathizers expressed sorrow over the incident.
Sources at the location revealed that the deceased had been missing for about five days prior to the discovery, which had caused serious concern among his family and residents about his whereabouts. With the help of individuals at the scene, the body was recovered from the river. The identity of the deceased has not yet been officially confirmed by authorities.
