Troops of the 7 Division Provost Group have arrested a 25‑year‑old man suspected of supplying logistics and intelligence to Boko Haram terrorists in Borno State. The suspect, identified as Mohammed Bulama, a resident of Mafa Local Government Area, was apprehended at about 4:30 p.m. on 1 June 2026 during surveillance operations within the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council area. The arrest took place at Ngawom, Muna Garage, following intelligence‑led monitoring by security personnel.

According to security sources, preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect was involved in providing logistical support and information to terrorist elements operating in the region. During interrogation, Bulama reportedly confessed to knowing other members of the insurgent group and expressed willingness to assist security forces in identifying and apprehending them. The suspect is currently in the custody of the 7 Division Provost Group for further investigation and necessary action.

The arrest highlights the military’s continued focus on dismantling the support networks that sustain Boko Haram and ISWAP operations in the North‑East. By targeting logistics suppliers and informants, security forces aim to disrupt the flow of supplies, fuel, food, and intelligence to terrorist cells. The Muna Garage area has long been identified as a transit hub for goods and people entering and leaving Maiduguri, making it a strategic point for surveillance operations. This arrest is the latest in a series of successful interdictions in Borno State, including the recent capture of an ISWAP spy along the Banki border and the arrest of another suspected informant in Adamawa State.

As of Wednesday, 4 June 2026, Bulama remains in military custody, and no court date has been announced. The Nigerian Army has not issued an official statement beyond the information provided by security sources.
