A fresh wave of insecurity has hit Lafiagi town in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, following a bandit attack in the early hours of Thursday, June 4, 2026, in which a husband and his wife were abducted. According to initial accounts from residents, armed men stormed the community under the cover of darkness, firing sporadically to instil panic before forcing their way into a residence and seizing the couple. The attackers reportedly escaped into nearby forests, leaving the community in a state of fear and uncertainty.
