FRSC Recovers Stolen Vehicle In Edo, Hands Suspect To Police

BENIN CITY, Nigeria – The Federal Road Safety Corps has recovered a stolen vehicle through the personnel of its RS5.13 Iruekpen Unit Command in Edo State, handing the suspect over to the Nigeria Police Force for further interrogation. The operation took place on Sunday, 14 June 2026, following a distress alert regarding a gold-coloured Toyota Camry with registration number RBC 987 CM, which had been stolen from a church premises in Benin City earlier that day.

Upon receiving the report, the patrol team immediately activated its intelligence and surveillance network, strategically monitoring vehicular movements along major routes within its operational corridor. Through a combination of vigilance, professionalism and effective patrol coordination, the vehicle was sighted and intercepted. The individual found in possession of the vehicle claimed to be a delivery agent, but after preliminary checks he was arrested and handed over to the police. The recovered vehicle has been secured pending identification and return to its lawful owner.

Commending the prompt response of the operatives, the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, said the recovery underscores the growing importance of FRSC patrol operations not only in road safety enforcement but also in supporting broader national security objectives through intelligence gathering and inter‑agency collaboration.
