The City Boy Movement (CBM), a support group associated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has removed its Oyo State Coordinator, Ahmed Ajibola, following allegations of gross misconduct, insubordination, and derogatory remarks against the President, his son Seyi Tinubu, and the movement’s national leadership. The dismissal, announced on Thursday, August 6, 2026, by the movement’s Director-General, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, came after disciplinary proceedings initiated by a petition against Ajibola.
Ajibola was accused of making abusive, insulting, and derogatory comments about the movement’s leadership, including the Director-General, and directing offensive remarks at President Bola Tinubu and the movement’s patron, Seyi Tinubu. He was also alleged to have engaged in insubordination, challenged a leader in the state to a physical confrontation, and created division and factionalisation within the Oyo State chapter. The movement had issued Ajibola a formal notice to show cause on June 2, 2026, giving him 48 hours to respond to the allegations. Following his failure to provide a satisfactory defence, the leadership announced his removal.
Hon. Adewale Oladiti has been appointed as the new Oyo State Coordinator, with his appointment taking effect on August 6, 2026. The movement stated that Oladiti’s selection was based on his commitment, grassroots engagement, and readiness to contribute to the growth of the organisation in Oyo State. The appointment letter clarified that the State Coordinator reports directly to the Oyo State Director and operates under the Director’s authority.
The City Boy Movement is a pro-Tinubu support group focused on mobilising grassroots support for the President’s re-election bid in the 2027 general elections. The group had previously targeted one million votes for Tinubu in Oyo State. The dismissal of Ajibola highlights the movement’s zero-tolerance stance on conduct capable of bringing its image and reputation into disrepute.
