The daughter of kidnapped billionaire businessman Chief Joseph Ezeokafor has publicly accused her younger brother, social media celebrity Eberechukwu Ezeokafor, popularly known as Jowizaza, of being directly responsible for their father's ordeal, saying his flamboyant online lifestyle misled kidnappers into believing the family was far wealthier than it actually is. Blessing Ezeokafor, the first child of the Jezco Group chairman, made the explosive allegations in a series of social media posts on August 14, 2026, as the family continues to grapple with the abduction of their patriarch, who was snatched from a Catholic prayer ground in Awka, Anambra State, on August 5.
In her posts, which have since gone viral, Blessing did not mince words. She accused Jowizaza of running their father's company into the ground before he was removed as a director and placed on a monthly salary of N1 million. She insisted that the family was "swimming in debt" and that her brother's extravagant displays of wealth were purely for social media consumption. "Why Jowizaza my brother? You are the cause of this madness," she wrote. "Social media noise, when we don't have that money. You use audio money to make hoodlums think the money is available."
The crux of Blessing's accusation centres on the ransom negotiation. According to her, the kidnappers initially demanded N700 million, a figure her brother allegedly agreed to pay. However, the abductors subsequently doubled their demand to N1.5 billion, a hike she attributes directly to Jowizaza's public persona. "He agreed to pay N700 million, which was why they increased the ransom to N1.5 billion," she claimed. She questioned how her brother could have agreed to such a sum, alleging that he does not even have N100 million in liquid cash. "Imagine, N1 billion? If anything happens to my dad, I will hold you responsible," she wrote.
Blessing also revealed the staggering scale of the family's financial liabilities, stating that the Ezeokafor family owes banks a combined N40 billion. "Making noise, when we are owing bank N40 billion. And these people think the money is there, see what your madness exposing has done to us," she said. She further claimed that Jowizaza is struggling with debts to FCMB and Union Bank and that even an American company she introduced to the family, Feedco, has not been able to salvage the situation. "Fake life claiming what we don't have," she wrote.
In a direct appeal to the kidnappers, Blessing pleaded for her father's release, insisting that the family does not have the money they are demanding. "Kidnappers, they don't have money, it is audio money, please leave my dad alone. Please release him, they are swimming in debt," she said. She also addressed critics who questioned her decision to air the family's dirty laundry online, explaining that she had no choice. "Some idiot are saying I should not talk what I know. So you want those kidnappers to think we have money and refused to give them and kill him there? I will now become fatherless," she wrote.
