A notorious bandit commander, Kachalla Hare, who terrorised communities in Zamfara State for months, is dead. According to local sources, Hare met his end after his fighters encountered security forces near Gusami village, located between Bungudu and Gusau Local Government Areas, on Tuesday afternoon, September 1, 2026. Several of his fighters were reportedly killed during the encounter, while Hare was captured alive but seriously wounded with ammunition in his possession. He later died from his injuries in the early hours of Wednesday, September 2.
