Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the immediate disengagement of all Directors-General of government agencies and Technical Advisers serving in the state, as his administration prepares for his second-term inauguration.

The decision was announced on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, in a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, in Ado-Ekiti.

According to the statement, the affected officials are expected to submit their handover notes to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.

The development comes a day after Oyebanji formally dissolved the State Executive Council on Monday, October 12, as part of the administrative process of winding down his first term, which ends on October 15.

The governor is scheduled to be sworn in for a second term on Friday, October 16, following his re-election in the June 20, 2026, governorship election.

The latest disengagement marks the completion of the process of relieving political appointees of their appointments, although a few officials have been retained because of the nature of their assignments.

Oyebanji thanked the outgoing Directors-General and Technical Advisers for their support, commitment and contributions to his administration and the development of Ekiti State. He also wished them success in their future endeavours.
