Former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has called on residents of Zamfara State to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in a collective effort to address the state’s worsening security situation and economic challenges.
El-Rufai, who made the appeal during a visit to Zamfara, said the ADC has designed a comprehensive strategy to improve security, revitalize the economy, and boost food production across the state.
According to him, the time has come for citizens to rally around a political movement that places the people’s welfare above personal or partisan interest.
> “The ADC has a clear plan to rebuild Zamfara by improving security, strengthening the economy, and increasing food production,” El-Rufai said. “Let us unite and work together to bring positive change to our state.”
He also appealed to party members to remain united and avoid what he described as internal divisions that could slow down the party’s progress. El-Rufai further urged members to collaborate with youth and women groups to spread the party’s message to the grassroots level.
> “Ensure you obtain your Permanent Voter’s Card ahead of the 2027 general election,” El-Rufai added, emphasizing the importance of voter participation in shaping the state’s future.
ADC officials present at the event, including Atiku Abubakar and Zamfara State Chairman Kabiru Gaba, described El-Rufai’s visit as a significant boost to the party’s strength and unity. They noted that his involvement has attracted broader participation from all 14 local government areas, reflecting the ADC’s growing influence in Zamfara State.
El-Rufai’s move to engage with the ADC has been widely viewed as an attempt to reshape the political landscape and offer new solutions to the long-standing issues of insecurity and economic decline that have affected the North-West region.
