ISMAILIA, EGYPT — The National Sports Commission (NSC) has confirmed the arrival of Nigeria’s men’s and women’s national hockey teams in Ismailia, Egypt, on 8th October 2025, ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for 11–18 October.
The early arrival allows the athletes to acclimatise, engage in proper warm-up sessions, and prepare optimally for the continental tournament.
The NSC commended the Hockey Federation of Nigeria and all relevant stakeholders for their meticulous preparations and dedication, emphasizing the country’s support for the national teams.
“We are fully behind Team Nigeria’s quest for excellence and are confident of a memorable performance on the African stage,” the Commission stated.
This proactive approach demonstrates Nigeria’s commitment to promoting hockey and ensuring that its athletes are competitively prepared for major international competitions.
