Borno State Police Hosts INEC Delegation Ahead of December Elections

The Borno State Police Command received a courtesy visit from the Executive Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Borno State Chapter, Dr. Tahiru Shettima, and his team at the Command Headquarters in Maiduguri on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration between the Police and INEC in preparation for the upcoming elections scheduled for December 13, 2025, across the 27 local government areas of the state.

Dr. Shettima commended the Borno State Police Command for its consistent commitment to public safety and emphasized the need for enhanced synergy to ensure a free, fair, and credible electoral process. In response, Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, affirmed the Command’s readiness to provide all necessary security support and highlighted the critical role of effective communication and reliable information sharing between the Police and INEC to guarantee the success of the elections.
