The Commission noted with serious concern a recent statement by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) about young Nigerians selling their personal information to Fintech institutions.

The NIMC expressed grave concern over the security implications of such actions, stating that it will not be held responsible for any personal information shared by an individual directly or by proxy for financial gain or inducement. The Commission has repeatedly warned Nigerians not to disclose their NIN to unauthorized individuals or organizations.
