President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his condolences to the family, associates, and people of Nasarawa State over the passing of Alhaji Isyaku Ibrahim, a respected businessman, politician, and sports promoter. He died on Saturday, August 17, 2025, in Abuja at the age of 88.
Alhaji Ibrahim, a native of Wamba in Nasarawa State, was a notable chieftain of the defunct National Party of Nigeria (NPN) during the Second Republic.
In 1998, during Nigeria’s transition to democracy, he joined other political heavyweights to establish the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Beyond politics, he made his mark in business and community leadership, and was also the founder of the famous Mighty Jets Football Club of Jos, which thrived for decades as a force in Nigerian football.
In his message, President Tinubu praised the late Ibrahim’s “significant contributions to national development through politics, entrepreneurship, and sports promotion.”
The President also prayed for the repose of his soul and asked God to grant his family and the people of Nasarawa the fortitude to bear the loss.
