A well-known community leader and media figure, Comrade Eze-Harris Chuma-Odili, popularly called Eze Ogbono, has passed away after collapsing during a public event.
The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the Igwe stool of Ogbunike town in Oyi Local Government Area. Eyewitnesses recounted that Chuma-Odili was in high spirits, interacting with guests and preparing to spray money on dancing performers when he suddenly slumped backwards.
Efforts to revive him at a nearby hospital proved unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead.
News of his sudden demise has quickly spread across social media, prompting an outpouring of tributes from friends, colleagues, and community members, mourning the loss of a prominent and respected figure.
The community is expected to hold memorial services in the coming days to honor his contributions and legacy.
