Fresh details have emerged regarding the tragic death of Lt. (Dr.) Samuel Haruna, who was allegedly set ablaze by his wife in a shocking act that has left the Dawo community in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State in disbelief.

According to a family member, the fatal domestic dispute began after the wife reportedly discovered a text message on her husband’s phone, allegedly from another woman. Despite Dr. Haruna’s denial and insistence that he was not involved in any extramarital affair, the situation escalated.

The source revealed that the wife, driven by jealousy, allegedly carried out the act while her husband was asleep, leading to his death.

The couple, both indigenes of Dawo community, had only tied the knot in April 2025, in what was described as one of the most celebrated weddings in the area. The sudden and violent end of their union has left relatives, friends, and neighbors in shock and mourning.

Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the incident, but local residents have called for a thorough investigation to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
