The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to deepening bilateral relations with the Republic of Argentina, with particular focus on information exchange, cultural collaboration, and media cooperation. The statement came during a courtesy visit by the Argentine Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Mr. Nicolás Perrazo Naón, at the Ministry’s office in Abuja on Wednesday, 8 October 2025.
Minister Idris described the meeting as an opportunity to strengthen diplomatic ties, noting the long-standing history of mutual respect and cooperation between Nigeria and Argentina in global and regional fora. He assured Ambassador Perrazo of Nigeria’s commitment to promoting collaboration in public communication, cultural diplomacy, and people-to-people engagement. The Minister also commended the Ambassador for his dedication to advancing bilateral cooperation in media development, information sharing, and public enlightenment.
Ambassador Perrazo expressed gratitude for the warm reception, highlighting the importance of accurate information and positive narratives in connecting nations. He also remarked on the day’s symbolic significance, coinciding with a friendly football match between the under-20 teams of Nigeria and Argentina, underscoring the cultural and sporting links both countries share. Both parties discussed expanding cultural exchange initiatives and strengthening media partnerships to foster mutual understanding.
The meeting concluded with mutual assurances of continued dialogue, reinforcing a shared commitment to enhancing the friendship and cooperation between Nigeria and Argentina across media, culture, and information sectors.
