The Bauchi State Government inaugurated the two-day Bauchi State Investment Summit at the newly commissioned Ahmadu Bello International Conference Centre (ICC), hosting high-profile dignitaries and investors.

Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima officially opened the summit, urging citizens to embrace patriotism and unity while assuring both local and foreign investors of the Federal Government’s commitment to a secure and investor-friendly environment. He highlighted the immense economic opportunities in Bauchi and Northern Nigeria.

The summit also welcomed former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, who commended the state’s forward-looking initiative to unlock Bauchi’s economic potential. Dr. Jonathan emphasized that subnational efforts like this are crucial for job creation, economic diversification, and sustainable development across Nigeria.

The Bauchi State Governor, who hosted the summit, described the ICC as a symbol of the state’s openness to global partnerships and innovation. He underscored Bauchi’s abundant resources in agriculture, solid minerals, and tourism, pledging that his administration would continue to provide infrastructure, policies, and incentives to position the state as a regional hub for trade, industry, and innovation.

Dignitaries, investors, diplomats, and development partners from China, Turkey, Serbia, and Tunisia attended the summit, alongside notable figures such as His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Saad Abubakar III, who reiterated the importance of peace and security for sustainable development.

The Governor described Bauchi Investment Summit 1.0 as a milestone in the state’s development agenda and reaffirmed his commitment to transforming Bauchi into a leading investment destination in Nigeria and beyond.
