The Abia State Government has ordered all mechanics and auto spare parts dealers operating along School/Clifford Road, Hospital Road, Jubilee Road, and Azikiwe Road in Aba North, Aba South, and Obingwa LGAs to relocate to the Ovom Industrial Mechanic Cluster, Ogbor Hill, by 15th October 2025.
The government reminded traders that the one-year grace period previously granted — requested by the dealers themselves — expired in May 2025. The move is part of efforts to decongest Aba metropolis and create a safer, more organized, and business-friendly environment.
Authorities have warned that enforcement will commence immediately after the deadline, urging all affected dealers to comply promptly. For further inquiries, stakeholders can visit the Ministry of Industry and SMEs, New Secretariat, Umuahia.
