In a major development within the People's Democratic Party (PDP), the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), led by Wike’s faction, has expelled several prominent members. Among those expelled are Governors Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), and party elder Bode George.

In addition to the expulsions, other leaders have been suspended, including former Board of Trustees Chairman Senator Adolphus Wabara, Senator Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, Deputy National Chairman (South) Taofeek Arapaja, and several others. The party accused these members of engaging in anti-party activities.

During the 103rd NEC meeting held today at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja, the committee also approved the dissolution of the State Executive Councils of Bauchi, Oyo, Zamfara, Yobe, Lagos, Edo, and Ekiti States.

The acting National Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman, presented the memo explaining the reasons for these drastic actions. He said the decision was prompted by the affected members’ disregard for court rulings, which Abdulrahman stated has tarnished the party’s reputation and integrity.

This move signals a significant internal crisis within the PDP as the party continues to navigate its political strategies ahead of upcoming elections.
