Residents of Unguwar Galadima in Na’alma Ward, Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State, were thrown into grief on Wednesday afternoon after armed bandits launched a fresh attack around 3 p.m., killing one person and injuring another.
The attack is the latest in a rising wave of violent incursions in the axis, leaving communities on edge as insecurity worsens across parts of Katsina.
Local residents say the frequent raids have become a terrifying routine, with many fearing that the violence may soon spread beyond Katsina’s borders into neighbouring Kano State, especially communities in Gwarzo LGA, which share close proximity to the affected area.
They warn that unless urgent security intervention is deployed, the situation could escalate, endangering more communities already struggling with the psychological and economic impact of persistent bandit attacks.
The incident adds to growing concerns over the expanding reach of armed groups in the North-West, where rural settlements remain highly vulnerable to night raids, kidnappings, and killings.
