The head of Nigeria’s Immigration Service, KN Nandap, welcomed the German Ambassador to Nigeria, Ambassador Annett Günther, at the Service Headquarters in Abuja. The meeting took place yesterday and was also attended by Mr. Markus Sasse, the First Secretary of the German Embassy.
During the visit, Ambassador Günther praised Nigeria’s Immigration Service for their ongoing partnership in areas like migration and security. She called for stronger cooperation, especially in managing and identifying migrants, based on their existing agreement (MoU).
Ambassador Günther also highlighted Nigeria’s recent use of new technology, especially the e-Visa system, which she described as a major step toward making migration processes faster and more efficient.
The Nigeria Immigration Service boss, KN Nandap, thanked the Ambassador for her visit and reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to working closely with Germany on migrant identification. He also appreciated the German government’s warm reception during his recent trip to Germany, which focused on border security and governance.
Both sides agreed to continue strengthening their cooperation in areas like capacity building, border security, and migration management.
This meeting was officially recorded and signed off by ACI A. S. Akinlabi, the Service Public Relations Officer, at the Nigeria Immigration Service Headquarters in Abuja. The visit and the commitments made were documented on November 21, 2025.
