Tragedy struck as the bodies of a missing Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer, SRC Lasisi Funmilayo Oluwamayokun, and her young daughter, Sewa, were found inside the home of a suspected herbalist in Osun State. The discovery has shocked the community and left many in mourning.

Lasisi, a 38-year-old officer with the FRSC in Abeokuta, went missing on Sunday, November 2, 2025, after leaving her home at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate in Abeokuta. Her family and colleagues tried to reach her without success, prompting them to report her disappearance to the police on November 5.

Over the weekend, authorities confirmed that the remains of Lasisi and her daughter were recovered from the house of a herbalist in an undisclosed community in Osun State. This has made Osun the focal point in this heartbreaking case.

Following the discovery, police arrested the herbalist’s wife. Meanwhile, her husband, the main suspect, has reportedly fled, and police are now conducting an intense manhunt to find him.

Investigators suspect that the herbalist may have played a central role in the deaths, but details of what exactly happened are still being uncovered.

Ogun State’s Police Commissioner, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, has ordered a full investigation into the matter. He has also directed homicide detectives to work closely with their colleagues in Osun State to track down the suspect on the run.

The Commissioner expressed outrage over the incident, saying, “The loss of an officer and her child in such disturbing circumstances is unacceptable. We will pursue every lead to uncover the truth and bring all responsible individuals to justice.”

The gruesome discovery has plunged the FRSC community in Abeokuta and the victims’ neighborhood into deep mourning. Many residents are struggling to come to terms with this shocking event.

Police are appealing to anyone with credible information about the whereabouts of the suspect to come forward as the investigation continues.
