On Friday, bandits opened fire on a group of farmers working on their farms in Kaduna State. The attack happened in Giwa Local Government Area (LGA), which shares borders with Birnin Gwari. Birnin Gwari is known as the main hotspot for banditry in Kaduna State and has experienced similar attacks before.

This recent attack is part of a series of violent incidents in the area. Just a few weeks earlier, on November 12, 2025, terrorists carried out a midnight raid in Gidan Waya, Lere LGA, killing four residents and kidnapping 12 others. Also, on November 1, 2025, bandits attacked a community in Damakasuwa, Kauru LGA, killing five people, including minors, and injuring others.

Tragically, during the latest attack, one farmer was killed. The incident has raised serious concerns about the ongoing insecurity in Kaduna State, especially for farmers who risk their lives to cultivate their land. Authorities have yet to make an official statement, but residents are calling for urgent action to stop the violence and protect the communities.
