A fresh wave of insecurity has hit Ogun State after armed Fulani herdsmen and bandits reportedly stormed a quarry site in Ijebu Ode and abducted two Chinese nationals working at the facility.

The attackers, who arrived the site heavily armed, were said to have overpowered workers and security personnel before whisking the expatriates away into a nearby forest. The incident has sparked renewed fear among residents and industry workers, especially as kidnappers continue to target foreign nationals and business locations across the region.

Security agencies have reportedly begun combing surrounding areas in search of the victims, though details of the official response are still emerging. The attack adds to the growing list of kidnappings linked to criminal groups extending their operations beyond traditional hotspots into previously secure parts of the South-West.

The abduction has again raised questions about the vulnerability of critical economic sites and the safety of expatriates working in industrial locations across the state.

Authorities are yet to issue a formal statement, but community members are calling for stronger protection of businesses and greater intelligence coordination to prevent further incidents.
