The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made a surprising discovery: illegal drugs hidden inside flight boarding passes.
Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA spokesperson, shared photos of these boarding passes on X (formerly Twitter), revealing how traffickers are using this clever method to smuggle drugs.
Operatives in Lagos recently uncovered this new technique, which traffickers are using to hide dangerous substances in everyday items. Babafemi warned parents, guardians, and the public to be extra careful, especially with packages delivered by dispatch riders, as traffickers are becoming more creative in their hiding strategies.
He explained that drugs like Colos are being concealed inside flight passes, making it harder for authorities to detect them. This new method is part of an ongoing effort by traffickers to distribute illicit drugs in city centers across Nigeria.
Despite these challenges, the NDLEA has been steps ahead, uncovering and stopping these evolving smuggling tactics to protect the public from harm.
