The Nasarawa State High Court in New Karu has ordered the immediate arrest and imprisonment of Monica Uchechi Robinson, also known as Ihezuoh Monica Uchechi, for disobeying a court order related to her child custody case.

The ruling was delivered on November 7, 2025, in a case with Suit No: NSD/MG273/2020, involving Monica Uchechi Robinson (the petitioner) and her husband, Robinson Chima Robinson (the respondent). The judge, Hon. Justice Hannatu Kabir, ordered that Monica Uchechi Robinson be sent to prison because she failed to comply with a court order made on December 13, 2023.

The court also directed the Nigeria Police to arrest her and execute the warrant. She will be detained in a correctional center within the court’s jurisdiction until she agrees to obey the court’s order and allow her husband access to their child.

It is important to note that Monica Uchechi Robinson and Robinson Chima Robinson are still legally married, and they have one male child. The court had previously granted the respondent permission to visit and see the child on December 12, 2023.

The court ordered the respondent to serve the court’s order and related documents to Monica Uchechi Robinson through various means, including sending a copy by courier to her last known address, delivering it to her workplace at the State Security Service (DSS) headquarters in Abuja, or sending the documents via WhatsApp.

The recent order for her imprisonment was due to her continued refusal to allow her husband access to their child, despite the court’s previous directives
