Security agencies in Kaduna State have commenced a coordinated, large-scale clearance operation aimed at neutralising criminal networks and restoring calm across multiple communities. The operation, which began on Tuesday, brings together the Kaduna State Police Command, the Nigerian Military, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Kaduna Vigilance Service (KADVS), as well as local vigilante groups and hunters.
According to an official statement, the joint forces are currently conducting intensive operations in Makarfi, Hunkuyi, and Ikara Local Government Areas. The mission focuses on dismantling identified criminal hideouts, destroying illegal camps, and flushing out bandits and insurgent elements that have been terrorising residents in recent months.
The initiative is in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, who recently ordered police commands nationwide to escalate offensive operations and intensify efforts to cripple criminal activity within their jurisdictions.
Commissioner of Police in Kaduna State, CP Rabiu Muhammad, reaffirmed the collective resolve of the security formations to maintain peace and order across the state. He emphasized that the ongoing operation is designed to be continuous, coordinated, and far-reaching, with all participating agencies working in synergy to deliver sustained results.
The police chief urged residents to remain calm and support the security teams as they move through affected areas, noting that cooperation from the public is essential to the success of the operation. He also assured that the safety of civilians remains a top priority throughout the exercise.
The statement, issued by DSP Mansir Hassan, the Police Public Relations Officer, stressed that Kaduna’s security architecture is being strengthened to ensure that criminal elements find no space to operate in the state.
