The Adamawa State government has expressed profound condolences to the people of Lamurde Local Government Area following the tragic death of Pwavi Ijeoma Emmanuel, a 43-year-old Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain.
Pwavi Ijeoma died in a motor accident on 22nd November 2025 while traveling from Yola to Abuja on an Adamawa Sunshine Bus. The incident has left family, friends, and party members in deep mourning.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri urged the deceased’s family, friends, associates, and PDP leadership to seek comfort in God during this difficult time. Representing the Governor, Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta described receiving the news of Ijeoma’s death as “deeply shocking and profoundly saddening.”
Professor Farauta paid tribute to the late PDP leader, calling her “an illustrious daughter of Adamawa and a distinguished Nigerian whose life reflected dignity and respect.” She also encouraged prayers for a peaceful and hitch-free yuletide season.
Religious leaders present at the condolence gathering prayed for the family and mourners, assuring them that Jesus Christ provides peace to those who grieve.
Pwavi Ijeoma Emmanuel, who recently participated in the PDP national convention in Ibadan, is remembered as a committed party member and an influential figure in Adamawa politics.
