Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, on Tuesday presented the 2026 Budget of Actualisation and Hope to the State House of Assembly, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to the People’s Charter of Needs and the ongoing transformation of the state.
The budget presentation, made in line with Section 121 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), marks another milestone in the governor’s efforts to consolidate achievements recorded in just over two years in office.
Addressing lawmakers, Governor Nwifuru reflected on the progress made so far, noting that the administration has restored dignity to pensioners, empowered thousands of young people and entrepreneurs, transformed schools, expanded access to healthcare, revived agriculture, strengthened security, rebuilt infrastructure, and reignited industrial activities across Ebonyi.
He highlighted major strides such as the establishment of two new universities, the revival of critical water schemes, improvements in the capital city, and the opening up of rural communities. According to him, the government’s development trajectory has been “steady, intentional and people-driven.”
The proposed 2026 budget stands at ₦884,868,327,429.94, which the governor described as a financial roadmap for industrialisation, job creation, human capital development, and sustainable prosperity for citizens.
Governor Nwifuru commended the House of Assembly for its cooperation, describing the synergy between the arms of government as essential to the state’s growth. He assured Ebonyians of his unwavering dedication to transparency, accountability, and people-centered governance.
