The Edo State House of Assembly has summoned Hon. Natasha Irobosa of Egor Constituency to appear before the Ethics and Privileges Committee within one week to defend herself against allegations of misconduct.
Speaking during plenary, Speaker Blessing Agbebaku stated that Irobosa’s recent actions, which have been trending on social media and television, have brought the reputation of the Assembly into disrepute. He emphasized that members of the House are expected to uphold high standards of conduct, and her behavior is considered a violation of this responsibility.
“Hon. Natasha Irobosa has been summoned due to her recent conduct, which drags the name of the House into the mud,” the Speaker said. “This House has educated members who have been unfairly tarnished by the actions of our colleague. We will not tolerate such behavior.”
The Ethics and Privileges Committee is tasked with investigating the matter and is expected to submit its findings to the House within two weeks.
The development underscores the Assembly’s commitment to maintaining discipline and integrity among its members while ensuring that misconduct is addressed promptly.
