The Rivers State Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with a recent attack on a staff member at Tonninno Filling Station in Port Harcourt. The arrests were carried out by the state’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) using intelligence-led policing and technical support.
According to the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe Koko, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects have been involved in multiple criminal activities across the state. The suspects and recovered rifles are currently in police custody and are cooperating with the investigation team.
Efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang and recover additional operational weapons.
The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, commended the diligence and professionalism of the operatives involved in the operation, assuring that all perpetrators of crime will face the full weight of the law. He also urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
The arrests highlight the commitment of the Rivers State Police to combating crime and ensuring the safety of residents across the state.
