Presidential Visit: Borno State Police Command Puts Robust Security Measures in Place

The Borno State Police Command has announced the deployment of comprehensive security arrangements ahead of the scheduled visit of the President to Borno State today, Saturday, 20th December, 2025.

In a statement issued by the Command, the Commissioner of Police, Borno State Command, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, psc, disclosed that an extensive and well-coordinated security architecture has been activated to ensure a peaceful, secure, and hitch-free presidential visit. The security plan, according to him, is designed to guarantee the safety of the President, government officials, residents of the state, and all visitors throughout the duration of the visit.

The deployment includes a combination of conventional police personnel and specialised tactical units drawn from various formations of the Nigeria Police Force. These comprise tactical response teams, surveillance and intelligence units, crowd control officers, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units strategically positioned at key locations. The measures are aimed at preventing any security breach and ensuring rapid response to any unforeseen situation.

The Command has also informed members of the public that there may be temporary traffic restrictions and diversions on certain routes to facilitate the smooth movement of VIP convoys and enhance public safety. In particular, motorists are advised to note that sections of the parallel route from Airport Road to Shehu Road in Maiduguri may experience intermittent closures or controlled access during the presidential movement.

Residents and road users are therefore urged to exercise patience, cooperate fully with security personnel, and comply with all lawful directives issued on the ground. The Police Command emphasised that the traffic control measures are temporary and solely in the interest of public safety and effective security management.

Reassuring the people of Borno State, the Police Command reiterated its unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property before, during, and after the presidential visit. The Command also called on residents to remain vigilant and continue to support security agencies by promptly reporting any suspicious movements, activities, or security-related concerns.

Members of the public are encouraged to report such information to the nearest police station or through the established emergency contact lines: 0806 807 5581 and 0802 347 3293.

0The Borno State Police Command expressed appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of residents as it works to ensure a safe and successful presidential visit.
