Troops Arrest Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP Informant at Damaturu Airport

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested a suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP informant at the Muhammadu Buhari International Cargo Airport in Damaturu, Yobe State.

The suspect was reportedly found loitering around a military location within the airport axis before troops moved in and arrested him. According to security report by Zagazola Makama, the suspect is currently in custody and undergoing further investigation. (ZAgazola)

Authorities have not publicly released the suspect’s name, age, place of origin, or details of any item allegedly recovered from him. No formal charge has also been announced at the time of reporting.

Operation HADIN KAI is the Nigerian military’s counter-insurgency operation in the North-East, covering operations against Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province fighters.

The arrest comes amid continued military surveillance around strategic locations in Yobe and neighbouring states, where security agencies remain alert to possible intelligence-gathering activities by insurgent networks.
