Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has appointed Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, as his new Chief of Staff and Aderonke Adedayo as Director-General of the state’s Due Process Office.

The appointments were announced on Monday, October 12, 2026, in letters signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde. Both appointments take immediate effect.

Akinwole’s appointment follows the resignation of Segun Ogunwuyi, who stepped down as Chief of Staff on Monday.

In his resignation letter addressed to Makinde, Ogunwuyi said serving the state government and its people had been an honour. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the administration and said he remained confident in Oyo State’s continued progress.

Akinwole is a grassroots politician who previously served as Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission.

Adedayo, who currently serves as Special Adviser on General Intervention and Donor Agencies, will retain that position while taking on her new responsibilities as head of the Due Process Office.

The Due Process Office plays a role in promoting transparency and ensuring compliance with public procurement procedures in the state.

Congratulating the appointees, Makinde urged them to discharge their duties with loyalty, commitment and dedication to the service of Oyo State.

The latest appointments come amid a series of changes within the governor’s administration, following the departure of Ogunwuyi and other aides in recent months.
