PDP National Chairman Receives Akwa Ibom State Caretaker Committee at Party Secretariat

Abuja, Nigeria – The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), His Excellency Amb. Umar Iliya Damagum, received the newly appointed Caretaker Committee of the PDP Akwa Ibom State Chapter at the party’s National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

The delegation, led by former PDP National Legal Adviser, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem, included the Akwa Ibom State PDP Caretaker Committee Chairman, Hon. Barr. Igwat Umoren, his deputy, Hon. Harrison Ekpo, the Secretary, Hon. Borono Bassey, and other key stakeholders from the state chapter.

During the meeting, discussions centered on strategies to unify party members and strengthen internal cohesion across Akwa Ibom State. The committee emphasized its commitment to fostering collaboration among party structures and ensuring a coordinated approach to upcoming political activities.

Amb. Damagum was joined by members of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) for the engagement, highlighting the importance of the discussions and the party’s dedication to promoting unity and strategic planning at both the state and national levels.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to prioritize dialogue, inclusiveness, and collective decision-making to ensure that party members remain engaged and focused on advancing the PDP’s objectives in Akwa Ibom State and beyond.
