The Federal High Court in Abuja has affirmed Chief Dan Osi Orbih as the authentic National Vice Chairman (South-South Zone) and Hon. George Turnah, MON, as the legitimate Zonal Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the South-South region.
In its judgment, the court declared that the purported Caretaker Committee led by Chief Emmanuel Ogidi was unrecognized by law and lacked the authority to act on behalf of the PDP South-South Zone.
The court further held that the tenure of Orbih and Turnah remains valid, having been duly elected and constitutionally recognized by the party’s relevant organs. The decision restores order and legality to the PDP’s zonal leadership after months of internal tension and uncertainty.
With this ruling, Chief Dan Osi Orbih and Hon. George Turnah, MON, will continue to discharge their duties as National Vice Chairman and Zonal Secretary respectively, in full accordance with the PDP constitution.
Party stakeholders across the South-South hailed the court’s decision as a victory for democracy, internal discipline, and respect for the rule of law within the People’s Democratic Party.
