The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), His Excellency Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum, on Thursday, November 6, 2025, paid a condolence visit to the Abuja residence of former PDP National Chairman and former Bauchi State Governor, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, following the passing of his beloved mother, Hajiya Halima Sulaiman Rabi’u.

Ambassador Damagum, who led members of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC), expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing the late matriarch as a woman of faith, compassion, and exemplary virtue who lived a life devoted to service, piety, and humanity.

Hajiya Halima passed away at the age of 92 on Saturday, November 1, 2025 (10th Jumada Al-Awwal, 1447 AH), at the Saudi-German Hospital in Medina, Saudi Arabia, after a brief illness. She was buried in Medina according to Islamic rites.

Speaking during the visit, the PDP National Chairman offered heartfelt prayers for the repose of the deceased’s soul, asking Almighty Allah to grant her Aljannatul Firdaus and to give the Mu’azu family the strength to bear the loss.

He further noted that the passing of such a respected mother figure represents “not only a personal loss to the Mu’azu family but also a great loss to the larger PDP family and the Muslim Ummah.”

The former Governor, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, appreciated the party leadership for their show of solidarity and compassion during the family’s time of mourning.

The visit, which drew several top PDP figures, reflected the unity and empathy that continue to define the party’s leadership even beyond politics.
